Zen Electric Boat Hire launches this summer with two new electric boats from their base, riverside at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, close to Marlow.
The first new boat, Zen Class is the flagship electric boat for 2021, comfortably seating up to six adults. Zen Class is silent, eco-friendly, very stable and offers an environmentally friendly way to explore the River Thames.
Guests can travel either upstream towards Hambleden or downstream towards Cookham or a mix of both. Zen Class has the option of a central table for enjoying a picnic en route.
Customers are given thorough instructions on how to use the Zen Class and how to be safe in the locks and on the river. All guests will be provided with buoyancy aids and younger children (min 2 yrs) with life jackets [sorry no dogs].
Crocodile was a much-loved family boat for years - Boat Rental Thames (sister company to Zen) has replaced the noisy outboard with a new quiet electric motor, making this much more pleasant and simple to use. This is the perfect boat for a family with smaller children. Seats up to 5 people (must be a minimum of 2 adults on board, sorry no dogs).
Alongside these two electric boats, sister company Moose Canoe Hire offers a fleet of Canadian Canoes (hold 2 adults and max 2 small children), Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) and kayaks – singles and doubles.
Boat Rental Thames also have a ‘mega-sup’ and a ‘waterbike’ for hire. Both are great fun for a morning or afternoon’s rental. Call for more details.

Guy Fisher, owner and founder, has been on a boat of some sort on the Thames and on the sea since the age of seven and has always been pulled towards the Thames in particular, being involved commercially with rentals, competitively with fixed seat rowing, for fun leisure with his family and altruistically with river based charities and river clean ups.
