Reading Walks Festival 2024 programme announced
11-19 May 2024
REDA, Reading’s Economy and Destination Agency, has announced the programme for the Reading Walks Festival 2024. Following on from last year’s successful inaugural festival, the 2024 festival will see almost 50 guided walks take place across nine days in May.
The Traditional Boat Festival is an exciting and fun filled weekend for families and traditional boat owners alike. It is a celebration of all that’s best in Boatbuilding and craftsmanship evoking the nostalgia of boating from a bygone era.
Royal Swan Upping
The annual Swan Upping event is a colourful event. The Royal Swan Uppers, who wear the scarlet uniform of Her Majesty The Queen, travel in traditional rowing skiffs together with Swan Uppers from the Vintners’ and Dyers’ livery companies over 5 days. Swan Upping takes place on the Thames between Sunbury and Abingdon, during July and plays an important role in the conservation of the mute swan. The full week’s schedule will be published during May 2023.
