Taking a horse drawn carriage ride through the Great Park is a truly uplifting experience, allowing you to enjoy spectacular views of Windsor Castle, The Long Walk, the Deer Park and the Copper Horse.

Windsor Carriages is a family business run by The Seear Family, who have lived and worked in the Great Park for over 50 years. They proudly continue the 165 year old tradition of licensed hackney carriages in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, of which they are the last in operation.

While riding through Windsor Great Park you will not only have the opportunity to experience our wonderful scenery from a unique perspective, but you will also receive a history lesson. Hear about the Kings and Queens of England and how they shaped the Great Park, as you travel under century old oak trees. And most importantly, you will also get to meet our award-winning and record-breaking horses - Minos, Hector and Sam – who are extremely good with families of all ages!

Practical information

Carriage Rides begin from Windsor Castle or from The Fox and Hounds at Bishopsgate, and are somewhat weather dependent – generally operating on bright and sunny days, as the carriage is open topped. Rides are available from April to October only - allowing Minos, Hector and Sam a well-deserved winter off!
