About
The Boatman is an historic riverside pub on the River Thames in the shadow of Windsor Castle overlooking Eton Bridge. The main historic building dates from 1829 when it was built to serve the river trade and it has been a pub/restaurant ever since.
There is nowhere better in the centre of Windsor to enjoy the fabulous waterfront views – the new glass conservatory has a retractable roof and heating so you can enjoy the location come rain or shine, both during the day and at night.
The dog-friendly pub is popular with walkers as the Thames Path National Trail runs right by it and it is also a favourite for dog walkers who benefit from its position next to Windsor Home Park, Romney Lock and near The Brocas in Eton. The Boatman is open from 10am for coffee or drinks, and freshly cooked food is served from 12 noon until 10pm, 7 days a week.
The menu includes British favourites such as beer-battered fish and chips, Eton Mess and roast dinners on Sundays, and a kids menu is available too. There are facilities for families as well as wheelchair and pushchair access. They have free WiFi.
The gastropub is the perfect venue for both private and business occasions including wedding receptions, birthday parties, client entertaining, office lunches and more. Table bookings can be made from 2 people up to 100 inside and they can cater for 80 people in the glass conservatory (the whole pub can also be hired exclusively). Fork buffets and finger buffets can be created for group bookings and guests are welcome to personalise their event including the menus to make them their own.
Located opposite Windsor & Eton Riverside Station, the station car-park is immediately behind the venue and there is plenty of additional parking close by.
