66 mile walking route from the Chilterns to the Cotswolds
This walking route winds through Oxfordshire from the banks of the River Thames in Henley to Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire. The route passes through a mosaic of contrasting landscapes and settlements including two areas of outstanding natural beauty; the pretty rolling Cotswold Hills and the Chilterns.
Oxfordshire County Council has developed free downloadable maps and directions for the whole of the Oxfordshire Way.
Maps for each stretch of the route also show the location of points of historical and geological interest. If you are interested in these, you can download the accompanying points of interest file for that section.
Points of Interest on the stretch from Henley to Christmas Common (8.2 miles) include: Henley Park, the ruin of St. James Church, Warburg Nature Reserve, Pishill Church and Christmas Common Church.
Henley on Thames to Middle Assendon is 2.2 miles.
