Henley Boat Races

The Henley Boat Races are a series of match races held each Spring between crews from Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Two crews race side-by-side over a course of 2000 metres, from Phyllis Court to Temple Island along the famous 'Henley Reach'.

The race programme includes men’s and women’s Lightweight crews representing Oxford and Cambridge Universities. 2017 will represent the 43rd contest between the men's crews and the 34th between the women. In addition leading college crews from the Oxford Torpids and the Cambridge Lent Bumps, race over a shorter course of 1750m.

Between 1977 and 2014 the Henley Boat Races also hosted the annual Women’s Boat Race and reserves race between Osiris (Oxford) and Blondie (Cambridge). These races moved to the Tideway in 2015.
